Scenic Painting
At Florida State, as part of my graduate assistantship during my 2nd and 3rd years, I was the introductory painting instructor for a Technical Practices class that all of the B.A. Theatre majors were required to take. The course was split up so the students would have half a semester of painting and half a semester of construction. I had three hands-on projects where I would demonstrate a painting technique, and then they were able to try out on their own, pictures of their work can be seen below. I taught the 75 minute class twice a day, two days a week, so overall I had 16 different groups of students over 2 years, about 150 people total.
I worked in the paint shop at FSU for 3 semesters, I painted for 12 different productions, including Intimate Apparel and Crimes of the Heart, which I also technical directed.
The lower pictures are from undergrad, from a drop I was contracted to paint, and from several painting courses I took.
